Mall of America, Bloomington Minnesota





Mall of America is a shopaholics dream, located at 8100 24th Ave S Bloomington, MN 55425. It has over 520 stores, 14 movie screens, and a giant amusement park right in the middle of it all. This place is fun for the whole family.

1. It has over 520 stores, 50 restaurants, 7 night clubs and 14 movie screens on four floors. They have a Lego store that allows you to play with Legos for free. They also have big block Legos for the little ones. Sea Life Aquarium with over 10,000 creatures inside. They were also building a new Hard Rock CafĂ© in August 2014. Stores include everything from sport memorabilia, Build-A-Bear, clothes and more. 


2. Nickelodeon Universe is right in the center of the mall. It has rides for kids and adults. Kids rides go at a fairly slow pace and adults get to ride them for free to help with the safety of the children. 

Most kids need to be at least 36 inches or taller to ride:
  •  Back at the Barn Yard Hay Ride
  •  Backyardigans Swing-a-long – swings in a circle up to 27 feet off the ground
  •  Balloon Race
  •  Big Rigs
  • Blues skidoo
  •  Diego’s Rescue Rider – a bus that goes up and down
  •  La Aventura De Azul – train ride that goes in a circle
  •  Pineapple Poppers – a SpongeBob themed bouncy house
  • Swiper’s sweeper
  • Wonder Pet’s Flyboat 

Adult rides require you to be 42 inches or taller to rider: 
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell Shock
  • SpongeBob Square Pants Rock Bottom Plunge
  • Avatar Airbender
  • Danny Phantom Ghost Zone  
  • Dutchman’s Deck Adventure Course – walk around, climb and zip line from one end of the mall to the other on this obstacle course
  • Fairly Odd Coaster


 

3. They have a lot of events:

Blackout 2014: Glow Crazyride and experience unlit rides, black lighting, fog effects, a live DJ, costume parties, black light t-shirt making, and more! The first 1,000 ride ticket purchases made after 5 p.m. will receive a free treat bag. (October 17, 18, 24,25 & 31
5 – 10 p.m)


Toddler Tuesdays – they have many different events that take place on Tuesdays for kids. Most involve a type of craft like their “Under the Sea Party” which is a friendly dance party where they make their own sea creature craft.


Autographs – Depending on when you go you can get your book, art work, or music signed by the artists or authors. They are going to have Lorine Live, Grace Helbig, Tessanne Chin and Michael Birawer there soon.
